Growing And Supporting LTSS Worker Co-Ops
One of our main objectives at MIT CoLab is to envision ways to improve the support and structure of our country’s long-term care system. Our most recent annual report serves as an exploration of long-term care and worker co-operatives as a key strategy to mitigate inequities that exist within the growing long-term services and support industry.
By redistributing profits, benefits, and ownership from the executives and shareholders back to the workers and ensuring that profits generated in communities of color stay in communities of color, worker co-ops contribute to a model of economic democracy that helps to shrink the racial wealth gap.
