Els Verhagan, Director Human Resources, Triodos Bank; Global Alliance for Banking with Values (Utrecht, Netherlands) (Values Based Finance/Banking)

Els Verhagen is Group Director HR & HR Manager International for Triodos Bank N.V. in Europe. As the leading social and green bank in Europe Triodos Bank invests  exclusively in social, environmental and cultural initiatives. Els is responsible for the  groupwide HR strategy and holds the functional reporting line with local HR managers across Europe. One of her focus areas lies on organizational development of the bank and key  projects relating to operational governance and organizational culture. From 2015 to 2018 Els was the  secretary of the “Werkgeversvereniging Banken” which negotiates the CAO (Collective Labour  Agreement) for the associated members. Prior to her work at Triodos Bank, Els worked for IBM Global  Business Services in different roles. From 2004-05, Els took a sabbatical to work with the Talented  Disabled Association, Tamale, Ghana, and the Vluchtelingenwerk De Bilt (Refugee Council). Prior to IBM  Els worked as Director Administration & Informatique for L'Oréal Nederland b.v. and as Materials  Manager and Head of Operations Control at Beiersdorf N.V. Els holds a degree in Management  Integrated Logistics and Industrial Engineering (Technical University of Eindhoven). Els lives with her  family in Zeist, Netherlands.
