Jason Laidley
Jason Laidley has been a public servant for over 15 years. Born in Buffalo, but raised in the Bronx, Jason has dedicated most of his adult life to ensuring Bronx residents voices are heard and needs are met by city and local government.
Jason started his career with the Office of the New York City Comptroller in 2003. It was there he developed a passion of working with community organizations driving change in their communities. He started as a liaison but as his passion and commitment grew, so did his role with the Comptroller’s Office. He has worked in three City Comptroller Administrations, expanding not only his portfolio, but the access and interests of the people in the Bronx. In 2010 Jason was elected State Committeeman and since then has tirelessly worked with the Bronx County Democrats to ensure the most qualified people are running and elected to office.
In addition to his work with the Comptroller’s Office, he has served as the Field Director for three city-wide campaigns and special assistant to the current Public Advocate Letitia “Tish” James. Jason is currently Chief of Staff to State Senator Jamaal Bailey.
Jason is the son of two hard working Jamaican-born parents, Cynthia and Delburn Laidley. With their support and guidance he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science from Lincoln University. He is also a co-founder of the People Stand United, an organization of nearly 100 men, chartered on the campus of Lincoln University to foster brotherhood and a sense of community among young men.
